Warrior of Light FFI

The Warrior of Light is one of the heroes fighting for the side of Cosmos in Dissidia Final Fantasy. A warrior highly skilled in the sword. He also excels in using his shield both defensively and offensively. In the original title, after rescuing Sarah, the princess of Cornelia, he departs on a journey to save the world from being completely consumed by darkness.
The Warrior of Light is portrayed as a stoic character who faithfully follows Cosmos. In opposition, Garland, his archenemy, is Chaos' right hand man. The prologue opens with the Warrior of Light regaining consciousness. Upon awakening, he hears Cosmos speaking to him, saying she has been defeated by the god of discord, Chaos. After getting rid of the imitations barring his path, he arrives at Cosmos' Throne, finding Cosmos weakened. She then pleads him and the other Warriors of Cosmos, telling them to find the Crystals in order to restore the balance between harmony and discord. She tells that she is sorry because she cannot be there for support, but the Warrior replies that her light is already with them. Cosmos then vanishes and the Warrior of Light sets off, determined to fulfill this quest.

Frionel FFII

Firion is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy II, and as such, the leader of the player's party. He is the adopted brother of Maria and Leon and it is the best friend of Guy.he was born in Salamand and was taken in by his adopted family after the death of his parents. After his home is burned down and his adoptive parents murdered by the Palamecian Army, he is critically wounded by several black knights when fleeing Fynn. Upon awakening, he finds himself in the remote rebel stronghold of Altair, where he reunites with his close friends Maria and Guy. Upon realizing that Leon has been separated from them, he, Maria and Guy ask Princess Hilda if they could join the rebel army, since they have nothing left to return to. Instead, Hilda refuses to let them in because of their young age, but allows them refuge from the empire so they can wait for Maria's brother, Leon, to find them if he survived. Instead of waiting, Firion, Maria, and Guy go to Fynn to find Leon themselves. There, they find Scott, Hilda's groom to be, mortally wounded in the secret room of Fynn's tavern. He gives a ring to Firion to give to Hilda to confess his love to her and his regret that he will not see her again. Impressed by their accomplished infiltration of Fynn, Hilda lets Firion and his friends Join the Wild Rose Rebellion against the empire.

Onion Knight FFIII

Onion Knight (seemingly based on the lead character of the NES version, but with an alternate costume based on Luneth) and the Cloud of Darkness are the respective hero and villainess representing Final Fantasy III in Dissidia: Final Fantasy, where they are voiced by Jun Fukuyama and Masako Ikeda respectively in the Japanese version.
The Cloud of Darkness is referenced in Ivalice-set titles Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift as a summonable entity (known as an "Esper" in the first, a "Totema" in the second and a "Scion" in the third) by the name of Famfrit, also known as "the Darkening Cloud".

Cecil Harvey FFIV

Cecil Harvey, is a Dark Knight of Baron who serves the king alongside his childhood friend Kain Highwind. Kain was once asked to become a Dark Knight, but instead followed his father's example and became Commander of the Dragoons. Rosa Farrell is the heroine and Cecil's girlfriend; she became a white mage and archer to protect Cecil as her mother protected her father. Cecil is Lord Captain of the "Red Wings", an elite air force unit constructed by his friend, the engineer Cid Pollendina, Baron's airship engineer.
During his quest, Cecil is joined by others. Rydia, a young Summoner from the village of Mist, who joins shortly after Kain disappears and Cecil gains her trust by saving her life. Tellah is a legendary sage of Mysidia; his daughter Anna died protecting her love, prince Edward Chris von Muir of Damcyan, who poses as a bard. Yang Fang Leiden is the well-mannered head of the Monks of Fabul. Palom and Porom are twin apprentices from the magical village of Mysidia who assist Cecil as he went to Mt. Ordeals. Edward "Edge" Geraldine is the rowdy Ninja prince of Eblan who has a crush on Rydia. Lastly, FuSoYa is the guardian of the Lunarians during their long sleep.

Bartz Klauser FFV

Bartz Klauser (Butz Klauser (バッツ・クラウザー ,Battsu Kurauzā?) in original Japanese language versions) is the protagonist of Square-Enix's Final Fantasy V. He is a twenty-year-old wanderer with a fear of heights, and becomes entangled in the quest to protect the Crystals when he helps Princess Lenna and Galuf escape a goblin-filled area on their way to the Wind Shrine. Bartz is connected to the element of Wind.
Bartz was born in the small town of Lix to Dorgann Klauser, one of the Warriors of Dawn from the second world, and a local woman named Stella (her maiden name is unknown). Stella died of an unknown illness when Bartz was three (she said that she had been suffering from spasms, and collapsed after walking offscreen), leaving him to be raised by his father. Dorgann died when Bartz was seventeen, and it is implied from his dying wish to be buried in the village that he died outside of the village. His parting advice to his son was to wander the world.
Three years later, Bartz is traveling in the Tycoon area when he rescues a young woman being attacked by goblins. She thanks him and tells him that she is looking for her father at the Wind Shrine. Not long afterwards, a meteor crashes and an amnesiatic old man emerges. He and Lenna decide to travel to the Wind Shrine together, but Bartz decides to continue his wanderings. His chocobo stops him, however, and he goes back to help the pair fight off goblins again. It is at that point that Bartz decides that his father would have wanted him to find out what was happening to the Crystals, and joins Lenna and Galuf.
From there, Bartz travels with the party, which is later augmented by the pirate Faris. It seems unclear as to why he is the apparent leader (or at least the character present on the world map) of the group until he beats Kelger's Lupine Attack, something that his father, Dorgann, had taught him. It is revealed to him then that his father was one of the Warriors of Dawn, though he had never told his son (however, a young Bartz overheard his parents talking, with his father asking Stella to promise not to tell Bartz about what he did to protect the Crystals). Ironically, Bartz's direct descendant became one of the new Warriors of Dawn 200 years later.

Tina Branford FFVI

Tina Branford (ティナ・ブランフォード ,Tina Buranfōdo?) is the first character introduced in Final Fantasy VI. She's a girl of mysterious origins and was born with the power of magic. In the Japanese versions of the game, her job class is given as "Magic Fighter"; the GBA version gives her class as "Magitek Elite". Although Yoshitaka Amano designed Terra with blonde hair, the hair color was changed to green in the game itself. Amano has stated in an interview that Terra was his favorite character to design.
Terra is the daughter of the Esper Maduin and a human mother, Madeline (Madonna in the original translation). Her heritage as a magical being is the source of her powers. Terra was raised as a soldier of the Empire after Gestahl's forces attacked the Espers' home and captured several of the creatures. Her potential was quickly realized, and it's said that she destroyed fifty Magitek soldiers in a single exercise. When the game begins, Terra is wearing a Slave Crown that suppresses her free will and gives the Empire complete control over her. An encounter with the frozen Esper, Valigarmanda (Tritoch in the original US translation), in the mines of Narshe breaks the Crown's control over her, but leaves her as an amnesiac. She is rescued by Arvis, and later, Locke, both members of the Returners, an underground anti-Empire resistance movement, and eventually joins its ranks.
After the destruction of the Floating Continent, Terra finds her way to Mobliz, and has lost the will to fight. She looks after the orphaned children with the teenaged Duane and Katarin, until one day when Humbaba (Phunbaba in the original translation), a monster that had defeated her before, attacks; she assists the party in defeating him once and for all, and joins them. Although she is expected to fade along with the rest of the Espers when magic disappears from the world, she is told by the Magicite remains of her father Maduin that she can choose to leave her Esper side behind, and she does.

Cloud Strife FFVII

Cloud Strife (クラウド・ストライフ ,Kuraudo Sutoraifu?) is a fictional character and the main protagonist in Square's (now Square Enix's) role-playing game Final Fantasy VII and several of its sequels and spin-offs. His original design was created by Final Fantasy VII character designer Tetsuya Nomura. Cloud's appearance is marked by spikey blonde hair, vivid blue eyes, dark clothing and his Buster Sword, which previously belonged to his friend Zack Fair. Cloud's official seiyū is Takahiro Sakurai—with Nozomu Sasaki first voicing Cloud in the video game Ehrgeiz—and his voice actor for his English appearances is Steve Burton.
In Final Fantasy VII, Cloud is a mercenary and self-proclaimed ex-member of SOLDIER, a select, genetically augmented military unit operating under the defacto world government and megacorporation Shinra Electric Power Company. Fighting against Shinra in the resistance group "AVALANCHE" and driven by a feud with the primary antagonist, Sephiroth, Cloud learns to come to terms with his troubled past and adapts to his role as a leader.

Squall Leonhart FFIIX

Squall Leonhart (スコール・レオンハート ,Sukōru Reonhāto?) is the main protagonist of Squaresoft's (now Square Enix) role-playing game Final Fantasy VIII. He was designed by Tetsuya Nomura with heavy influences coming from game director Yoshinori Kitase. Squall has appeared in several other games, such as the Kingdom Hearts series, where he appears under the name "Leon", Chocobo Racing and Itadaki Street Special. His weapon, the gunblade, also appears in other works.
In Final Fantasy VIII, Squall is a 17-year old student at Balamb Garden, a prestigious military academy for elite mercenaries known as "SeeDs." As the game's story progresses, Squall becomes friends with Quistis Trepe, Zell Dincht, Selphie Tilmitt and Irvine Kinneas, and falls in love with Rinoa Heartilly. These relationships – combined with developments in the game's plot – gradually turn him from a loner to an open and caring person. Squall's Limit Break (special move) is Renzokuken, which is a series of four to eight slashes preceding one of four finishing moves.

Zidane Tribal FFIX

Zidane Tribal (ジタン・トライバル ,Jitan Toraibaru?, IPA: /ziːˈdæn ˈtraɪbəl/) is the protagonist of Final Fantasy IX. Playful and flirtatious, Zidane displays little of the sullenness associated with previous Final Fantasy protagonists. Zidane has shoulder-length blonde hair tied with a ponytail and a prehensile monkey-like tail, as witnessed in game when Zidane hangs from his tail to evade Steiner. In trance form Zidane's hair becomes longer, and his clothing is replaced with thick fur covering his body. It is not revealed whether or not he has fur under his clothing when not in trance form. Zidane is identified as a thief.
Zidane began his life as an "Angel of Death" as a Genome on the planet Terra, having been created by a being named Garland. Due to circumstances, he was cast down to Gaia, and was adopted by Baku. He left home at an early age, becoming a drifter, a thief, and a womanizer.
Zidane becomes involved in a scheme by Tantalus to kidnap Princess Garnet of Alexandria. The kidnapping was set up by the ruler of Lindblum, Regent Cid. The point of the kidnapping was to get Garnet away from Alexandria, and her increasingly warlike adoptive mother, Queen Brahne.
During the events in the game, Zidane slowly falls in love with Princess Garnet. Though he is separated from her near the end, there is a joyful reunion in the closing part of the game.

Tidus FFX

Tidus (ティーダ ,Tīda?) is the protagonist in the console role-playing game Final Fantasy X. As the lead character, the player controls Tidus through the game, manipulating his actions through the unfolding storyline in traditional Final Fantasy style. Similar to the rest of the characters in Final Fantasy X, Tidus' abilities are built around a classic Final Fantasy job class—in his case a Fighter, a balanced melee class. However, he also features many abilities from the Time Mage class in the form of supportive spells for himself and his group. Tidus is one of three characters able to fight underwater.
The storyline of Final Fantasy X revolves around Tidus, a 17-year old rising Blitzball star player from Zanarkand. After a mysterious creature called "Sin" attacked his hometown, Tidus was seemingly transported to the world of Spira. Lost, confused, and feeling out of place, Tidus soon meets a newly fledged summoner, Yuna, and her guardians. The summoner is soon to set out on a pilgrimage in an attempt to put an end to the very creature that attacked Tidus' city, and by joining them, Tidus hopes he will find his way home.
